Egypt.
Egypt is a country that we have avoided for the past twenty years purely on the basis that it would be difficult to produce anything particularly different in terms of content from that produced by the battalions of photographers that have previously visited. In truth it is a country that has a wealth of architectural treasures, but we were concerned as to whether it would be possible to produce any shots of the real Egypt, particularly as the Tourist Police are desperate to direct visitors along the well worn and safe heritage trail. The following are a selection of shots that were captured away from the traditional sites and were mainly taken at night in Aswan and Esna, (thank heavens for fast prime lenses and the high ISO capabilities of modern DSLRs).
