The Phone Call.
Sammy Cahn the famous American composer and lyricist was once asked - Which comes first, the music or the lyrics. Sammy, with typical wit and total honesty replied .... The phone call. Most freelance photographers, if they had the same wit and honesty, would agree that the phone call plays a vital part in their calling too. On the 27th December I received one of those telephone calls - a Bride and Groom who had arranged to have their wedding covered by another photographer were due to be married on New Years Eve and their photographer had been taken ill and had recommended us. So it was, that suffering a chest infection and full of antibiotics off we set, on the last day of 2010, to shoot our final and unscheduled wedding of the year.
The Bride and Groom, Lucy Hammick and Ed Cudmore are a wonderful couple - kind, good humoured, relaxed and very photogenic. The wedding took place at St Lawrence Church in Hungerford, Berkshire followed by a New Years Eve reception at the Templars Barn, Shefford Woodlands.
As Sammy would have said .... Thanks for the call.
