Education 1.
One of the most humbling of experiences of my life was to come to the realisation that I had wasted my education opportunities almost entirely, my major motivation was to leave formal education at the earliest opportunity. In fact, as Mark Twain is quoted as saying .... I never let my schooling interfere with my education.
However time and travel have taught me that few things are more important than education. I have visited schools all over the world, some teaching dance, others religion, some basic literacy and wherever I have travelled the poorest of communities seem to have the greatest appreciation of learning. Parents in these areas believe that education will open doors for their children, doors that for them have previously been closed. The following are a few images from Cambodia and Burma further images will follow in a later Blog on Vietnam and Sikkim.
