A very wet Summer.
June and July, the height of summer in England has, with typical English understatement, been somewhat disappointing. No, let us be untypical and state the truth, the weather has been b****y awful. In April and May the authorities introduced hosepipe bans and the weather forecasters were talking of drought. Within days the heavens opened and it has rained, seemingly continuously, for 8 weeks. As wedding photographers we say to clients .... sure, we may have rain in summer, but it never lasts all day, however for the last two months it pretty much has. Weddings tend to be planned 12 to 18 months ahead of the event; the bride and groom have visions of a June or July wedding day with warm sunshine. 2012 has been a bit of a challenge for them, their families, their guests, and for photographers all over the UK. These are a few images taken at some of our weddings during the last 6 weeks. Improvisation has been the key recently ..
It seems that the Jet Stream is moving north now and that we may have a warm spell - so driving to a wedding in pouring rain may be a memory for a while lets hope so .... but, in England, who can say ....
With thanks and congratulations to Kim and Jamie, Katie and Mike, Liz and Seb and all other brides and grooms married recently in a very, very, waterlogged UK.
